ABC Gives Green Light to New Reba Country Sitcom

She's alive and kickin', and so is her TV acting career.

ABC has picked up Reba McEntire's latest TV show, Malibu Country, and that reunites Reba with with Kevin Abbott, executive producer of her successful WB sitcom Reba.

The new show is about a woman who splits with her cheating rock-star hubby and packs up the kids and moves to Malibu, where she tries to revive her singing career.

This latest move by ABC really only guarantees that one episode will air.

A label spokeswoman tells CountryWeekly.com, "They shoot episodes for [a] pilot. If they air and test well, they shoot additional episodes."

Among those working on the show: Reba's hubby/manager, Narvel Blackstock, and Dave Stewart, who used to be in Eurythmics.
