9 TO 5 HEADING TO GREAT WHITE WAY

9 to 5, the 1980 hit movie starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, is coming to Broadway as a musical. Dolly won't be reprising her role as Doralee Rhodes, but she is currently writing twelve new songs for the musical to go with the original title track, which she also wrote. Original screenplay co-writer Patricia Resnick will pen the musical's book, and the musical will still be set in 1979. The first act will end, like the movie, with the sexist-pig boss Franklin Hart (played in the movie by Dabney Coleman) strung up in a harness.
