2006 CMA Awards Nominees

Brad Paisley and Brooks & Dunn lead the field of nominees for the 2006 CMA Awards, which were announced Wed., Aug. 30.

Brad and the Brooks & Dunn duo received six nods apiece, followed by Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood with four nominations. Also scoring big was the band Little Big Town, which picked up nominations for Vocal Group and Horizon in their first year of eligibility. “We weren’t expecting anything,” noted Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet. “To get two nominations just blows us away.”
