Among those honoring William Lee at the reception, held at the Nashville airport, were Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell, fellow Oaks Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall and Richard Sterban, and close friends T.G. Sheppard and wife Kelly Lang. William Lee’s paintings will be displayed for six months as part of the Arts at the Airport program. “This is a very special occasion for me and my family,” William Lee told the assembled crowd, “because it elevates the art and culture of our city. I can’t tell you how humbled I am.” The celebration featured the Oak Ridge Boys performing their hits “Y’All Come Back Saloon” and “Elvira.”
