Jo Dee Engaged

Jo Dee Messina has announced her engagement to musical equipment manufacturer Chris Deffenbaugh.

“This is such a happy time for us,” the couple said in a joint statement. “And we are so appreciative for each other and for our families, friends and fans that have sent us cards and e-mails. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.” The wedding is set for sometime this fall, as is the release of Jo Dee’s next album.

Chris, an Albuquerque, N.M., native, owns a company that builds road cases and audio equipment. Jo Dee was previously engaged to then-road manager Don Musquiz, but the relationship ended in 2004. Her new single, “Biker Chick,” will be sent to radio stations July 9, and her song “One Love” is featured on the Evan Almighty soundtrack, set for release July 3.
