Jeremy McComb: My Side of Town

My Side of Town

My Side of Town by Jeremy McComb
∗ ∗ ∗ ½

Washington native Jeremy McComb is a former disc jockey who spent two years as tour manager to comedian Larry the Cable Guy—an unlikely résumé for a guy whose debut album is one of the year’s most encouraging. He writes a handful of strong songs and picks even better ones, especially Bob Dylan’s “Wagon Wheel” and the Liz Rose/Jimmy Yeary stunner “This Town Needs a Bar.” Producer Paul Riddle (best known as the original drummer for The Marshall Tucker Band) summons up a crisp, natural sound that offers an ideal setting for a promising young singer to put his best foot forward.
