Journalist Hazel Smith Honored

Country Weekly contributing editor and cmt.com Hot Dish columnist Hazel Smith was honored during the sixth annual Source Foundation Awards, Aug. 21, at the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville.

The awards recognize individuals who have helped shape the Nashville music industry. Hazel’s career has included work with country legend Tompall Glaser, Country Music magazine and Indianapolis radio station WFMS. Garth Brooks made a special appearance as he introduced Hazel, noting that she was someone who “would die for me.” Brenda Lee and Jeannie Seely were among the hosts for the event.
