Stars Get Their “Guilty Pleasures” On

The show, one of the final events of Country Radio Seminar week in Nashville, showcases country stars performing their “guilty pleasures,” songs that they grew up loving but do not normally get a chance to play in their concerts.

The evening’s show-stopping highlight came with Laura Bell Bundy’s rousing rendition of “Proud Mary,” done in the version made famous by Ike & Tina Turner in 1971. Laura Bell, currently on the charts with “Giddy On Up,” was joined by two female dancers who had the sultry choreography down pat, and drawing the loudest cheers of the evening.

An additional crowd-pleaser was the duo of Burns & Poe (Keith Burns and Michelle Poe), who turned in an unexpected, but definitely spot-on, version of Australian rock band Men at Work’s “Down Under.” Mark offered his take on the Bon Jovi classic “Wanted Dead or Alive,” while Steve Azar took the stage for “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” and new female duo Coldwater Jane covered the Eagles’ “Heartache Tonight.” Bryan White showed off his soulful side as he strutted through Wilson Pickett’s “634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.).”
