When Country Weekly recently caught up with the legendary Dolly Parton during the grand opening of her new Nashville store, Trinkets & Treasures, one of the many items Dolly cited as a favorite was her “Coat of Many Colors” guitar, a custom-made guitar that is embossed with a patchwork of colors, and covered in approximately 6,000 rhinestones all placed by hand. “That’s like trying to count the Christmas lights at Dollywood!” says Dolly. “It’s like, ‘Did they really count the rhinestones?’ I guess they buy them in sacks—rhinestones by the pound. But I didn’t count them, I assure you!”
The idea for the multi-hued guitar comes from Dolly’s clothing designer, Steve Summers. “We made one for an auction, and people loved that guitar so much, we started making a few more!” says Dolly. Dolly assures Country Weekly that the guitar is not just a pretty piece of decor. "I love that guitar, in fact I just did the Marty Stuart show [on RFD-TV] and I played that guitar on the show. I did ‘Coat of Many Colors’ and I played that guitar, with the colors on it. It was neat to sing with that," she says.

I have always like Dolly. I love all of her songs. She is just a very good harted all around person. She knowns where she came from to be the person she is today.She did it one day at a time,or one song at a time. I have always thout about meeting her and going to Dolly Word. Maybe one day I will just get to do that. Just keep the good songs coming,Dolly.
