American Idol contestants, Danny Gokey recently weighed in on the popular talent contest's recent farewell to the popular judge Simon Cowell. “I think we can all come into agreement that we think, ‘Wow, what is the show going to be like?’” said Danny, who placed third in the eighth season of the show. “Simon didn’t make the show. It was the chemistry of the people on the show that made the show. But he was the front face of the show. To see him leave is sad,” Danny said backstage during a press conference at the CMA Music Festival.
With Simon leaving, Danny says that he thinks radio show host Howard Stern would be a possible choice for someone to replace the often brash and brutally honest judge. “American Idol was successful in the beginning. If they use that same formula and bring in somebody polarizing, it will be successful. I heard a rumor that Howard Stern could be that guy. Regardless of whether you like him or not, he would draw crowds. I heard that [Howard’s] not going to do it, but they are looking in the right direction. We will see what happens.”
While American Idol’s future may be uncertain, Danny has a lot going on. He will release his new single, “Will Not Say Goodbye,” soon, and will embark on a tour in the fall.

American Idol will be different, but the show will go on,I watch AI for the contestants and the music, not the judges. I agree with Randy, Danny's new single is stunning.

Danny's voice is so good, and the song choices on his album are excellent. I'm eager for the debut of "I Will Not Say Goodbye." It is a huge, moving, emotional song.

"I Will Not Say Goodbye" is a great song. Didn't think Gokey would make it as a country artist, but
Jun 14, 2010 at 5:13 pm ESTthis song has number 1 written all over it. I'd consider buying his CD just for this song and hope the rest are half as good.

I hope American Idol finds success without Simon. It has brought so much amazing talent to the music industry... Danny Gokey being just one of them. I am looking forward to the release of Danny's next single. Based on his current album, I predict great success for Danny!

There is no doubt that his CD is great. Every song he chose has a message, from Tiny Life to I will not say goodbye. He is just wonderful. I love you Danny and I wish you lots of success!!

Simon will be sorely missed on 'American Idol' but Danny is right, Simon added an ingredient to the mix of personalities which created its success. Just like Paula was adorable and gullible, Simon was obnoxious yet strangely loveable.
Jun 17, 2010 at 6:28 am ESTHoward Stern has created such a stir with his 'antics' I would fear having my daughter even appear on the show. Sorry Howard, call it as I see it. If they are having a hard time with it, I don't mind filling in every once in awhile, I know Ellen and I would get along well, and Randy is too cool (dog) and the beautiful Ms. Di Guardi (sic) is talented and well spoken.

It has been a wonderful surprise to see Danny go country. I loved him on idol and was so disappointed he didn't win. I really like his personality. I hope he is around for years to come.
