Carrie Q’s

To say that superstar Carrie Underwood has a lot on her plate might qualify as the understatement of the year. In addition to launching her Play On Tour on March 11 in Reading, Pa., she’s also getting married to fiance Mike Fisher later this year and trying her hand at acting, both on television and in a movie. As if that weren’t enough, she’s lent her name and time to an animal adoption initiative and tapped into America’s collective pride by nailing the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

We recently caught up with Carrie and asked her a few questions we solicited from fans via Country Weekly’s Twitter feed.

We’ve received e-mails from around the world, including one from China, and many of them focus on one thing—will you tour internationally?
That would be wonderful. There’s nothing concrete right now as far as going outside of the U.S., but we always talk about it, and I think we’re just kind of waiting until the demand is really there. I’m superbusy, all right, now as it is just working in the U.S. and Canada, so it would really just depend on what it was and what the opportunities were. But that’s always been something we’ve definitely been open to.

Will you and Mike have a small wedding or a big wedding?
It’s shaping up to be a good size. We would both like a small wedding, but the place that we’re going to have it at, we have a lot of space there and we might as well just go for broke and invite everyone we know.

Aside from your wedding, aside from international touring, the number-one question from fans is, how does your dog Ace get along with Mike?
Ace and Mike get along alright. There’s definitely some tension over who gets my love. For the longest time I called Ace my number one and I might have to change that a little bit. They do get along very well. It’s really sweet. Mike has developed an attachment to Ace, so it’s really nice. They play and run through the house. It’s really sweet to see a big guy and a little 10-pound baby dog running around the house together, cuddling.

To the gorgeous Carrie! You are absolutely one of the very best musicians out in the world today. (By the way, writing all of your songs does not a musician make.) Taylor Swift is proof of that.
Your voice is incredible No one even comes close to your ability to create an incredibly emotional song. You are so highly capable in dealing with crescendos and decrescendos, etc., unlike very few others. They all seem to just belt it out. No musicality whatsoever. How sad they can't see that. You've proven yourself to be the finest musician in the past decade. You rate up there with the classics such as, Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. Thank you for what you have given to the world of music.
Hope your wedding will be as wonderful as you and Mike are. I would love to see it but I doubt that will happen. It would be great if it were on TV or YouTube or somewhere else to watch. You will be the most beautiful bride ever. Go Carrie and Mike. Best wishes always.
