The Amazing Rhythm Aces: Their Very Best

Their Very Best

Their Very Best by The Amazing Rhythm Aces

It’s about time—the Amazing Rhythm Aces may have only graced the country Top 20 three times, but any still-active band whose history stretches back for well over three decades deserves a fitting anthology (their most recent best-of was 4 You 4 Ever, back in 1982). Their Very Best does the job nicely, featuring their mid-1970s biggies (“Third Rate Romance,” “Amazing Grace [Used to Be Her Favorite Song]” and “The End Is Not in Sight [The Cowboy Tune]”), continuing through lesser-known gems and winding up with frontman Russell Smith’s 1989 Top 40 entry, “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight.”
